What an amazing year!  For those of you who attended the December Holiday Event and those of you who were busy with other commitments…thank you for your leadership and support in making this year such a success.    Here’s just a few words I shared that evening:

This year, as president of the Dallas PRSA Chapter, I’ve been proud to serve along side such passionate leaders such passionate leaders, committed volunteers, eager new professionals, talented ‘established’ professionals, and such wise counselors and mentors.

Each volunteer plays such a vital role to the chapter, the profession and to each other as he/she grows in his/her career.  An annual reminder of the important contribution we can make is Pro Am Day and yet I want to encourage everyone to think of each Dallas chapter meeting, program and event as Pro Am Day.  These are our chances to give back in a big way with often little effort.  Volunteer to make one phone call to secure a speaker or sponsor.  Offer career advice to a new pro.  Share a job lead. Encourage PRSA membership within your company.  Recruit talent, and every chance you get…within or outside of your organization…mentor, mentor, mentor.  This is how we grow the next generation of leaders for our Dallas PRSA chapter and the public relations profession.
